3 Products that Get You Ready for Your Camera Close Up!
As someone who has built a career working on looks that would serve the camera – whether for editorial shoots, advertisements, wedding albums, or graduation pictures, I think it’s very safe to say that makeup always, always needs to look good in pictures.
Certain mistakes cannot be covered up in front of the lens, and it’s majorly important to make sure your makeup is always camera-ready. For people who always have to deal with unwanted shimmer because of their oily skin, I can totally understand. But don’t get self-conscious just yet when those lights start flashing; I’m listing some of my favorite MAC products that make sure your makeup is in check before you strike that pose:
MAC’s Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Primer– if you’ve read my Prime Time blog, you’d remember how important primer is to smooth out your pores and give you a healthy base for your foundation – well this product does just that. It’s specialized in covering up wide pores, which are normally a big issue for people with oily skin, and dries up instantly to ensure a shine-free, matte surface. Apply it on the T-zone.
Oil Control Lotion – yes, oily skin needs moisture as badly as normal skin, contrary to what you might think. MAC’s Oil Control Lotion exfoliates and hydrates the skin and ensures it sports a healthy, matte texture. It’s normally to be applied in the morning before you put on your makeup, to make sure your face remains shimmer-free during the day.
Blot Powder Pressed –Powder up! MAC’s Blot Powder Pressed is an oil-absorbing compact powder that works like magic, all you need to do is apply it to any glossy areas, and it’s a very professional product that’s more than perfect if you’ve got a photo shoot or a long day in front of flashing cameras, say, at a wedding.
I hope this blog has proven useful to all my readers who struggle with skin that always looks too glossy in pictures!
